CC: Being a daughter......

I missed last week Couples Corner but here I am today typing and reminiscing the memories of me as a daughter to my parents.
I think I could say that as a daughter I am a good one, ^_^. I am the eldest of the 2 siblings I have. And in our Filipino culture we are basically the second parent to our younger siblings right? So at an early age my mother taught me what is responsibility means, time management, prioritizing, household chores and money management. Basically it is already about life in an early stage. I don't remember that I go often to my neighbor's house to play because I have an obligation at our house that has to be done. Growing up, we had nannies. When we were in Elementary we only had one left then after I graduated Elementary my mom decided not to have one. That' when I started to apply all the things that my mother had taught me. And looking back I am very thankful that my mom trained and taught me all the things necessary in this life. Now,  I don't have problem dealing with all those things I just posted above, lol! Though, of course I don't have so many play time when I was a child but it's not really a thing to be missed about.
As a daughter I am an obedient  and I don't like to tell lies. As far as I could remember I only tell lie to my mother twice and I almost caught I get away with out my mom discovering it ^_^ From those experienced I told myself never again I will tell lie nor I will decide something not thinking about what will gonna be the consequence.
My father is always away from us. He is a sales representative while my mother is an Elementary teacher. But he is also very disciplinary father. He has rules and if you broke it then watch out he really will belt you. I don't remember my father belted me because I don't want too, lol!!
At my age, in my mid 40's looking back my parents did raised up pretty good. They didn't lack on giving us good advices. They supported us and they loved us. As a daughter what can I asked for more but to continue the legacy that my parents showed to us and taught us. I missed my parents they both passed away and even at my age now, I couldn't say that I don't need parents because a daughter is a daughter to his/her parents no matter what age you are, how successful you are, how happy you are in your life.

"Honor your father and your mother, that you days may be long
in the land which the Lord your God gives you."
                                                               Exodus 20:12

CC: I, as a Mother/Aunt...according to my husband

I don't have a child of my own but I have three nieces and one nephew that I treated, cared and loved as my own. Their mother is my sister who happened to have a life of her own. So what happened then, all her children was left to me and my brother since they were born except the first one, but my sister left her too  when she was in grade school.
One time two years ago I was in the Philippines vacationing when I happened to meet my high school classmate. And all my nephew and nieces are tagging with me ( which I love) and she asked me if they are all my kids. I said YES! And I saw those eyes popped out and they were giggling. I knew what they are thinking so after a quick chat me and my nieces and nephew went to Chowking and there I explained to them what happened. I told them that they don't come out from my tummy but God gave them to me and they came out from my heart. I never degraded their parents of what they did to them but told them the truth,  and I never took their parents right that they are their biological parents but they never tried to be like parents to them.  As for me and my brother we love them as much as their parents do and they knew that.
My  husband know this from the very beginning before we meet. We have chatted for two years and when he decided to see me he knew what I've been talking too. He knew that my world revolved around them before I meet him and that I loved them to death just like any mother do ( I think except my sister lol). Anyhow, since I don't have my own biological children I supported (financially, emotionally etc) them all the way. My husband always told me that I have a loving and soft heart. Even if I am a thousand miles away I always think of them, their safety and everything. And thankfully my husband is supportive of it. God knew what is in our heart and He fills it. God is good!! To see the story of my beloved kids it's here in my Pride and Joy blog

CC: When he doesn't like what I cooked

Good for me I will eat it!! LOL!! Frankly, it hurts at first I cried because I thought I did my best but my best isn't good enough (kanta to hiniram ko lang ^_^)  We Filipina we saw our mother how they cooked and take care of our father. And we somehow do that to our husbands too. Not sometimes realizing that....KANO TONG HUSBAND KO, aba!! One time I cooked sumptuous breakfast yun pala wala siyang gusto kahit isa doon sa handa ko. Eh pinoy style breakfast yun, gusto niya pang mag cereal and milk....aba na hurt ang mapakumbaba kung heart....umiyak ako.....at nag drama to the max.
Ngayon na understand ko na that in term sa pagkain, we are way different. Yes he eats rice, dried fish, fish, stir fry vegetables but hinde katulad ko na I can eat it everyday pati na yung left over. At ito pang isa, ewan ko kung sa hubby ko lang ito they are not used to eating left over. Aba sa atin sa Pinas hinde malayong five hours ang lift over maging over andoon na sa tiyan. Kaya ako talaga ang kakain sa mga left over and it's okey if lutong pinoy...eh sometimes kano dishes din.
Pero may mga luto akong he loves it. Like mussels with coconut milk, spring roll, isda but hinde yung head ayaw tumingin sa eye ball gross daw, chaka!! Ang sarap kaya noon ^_^ Sa sweets binangkal. Honestly, sometimes I get confused what to prepare for dinner or lunch. I don't want to let him eat a lot of meat lalo na sa pork or beef. But he doesn't like chicken either, kakaloka diba? Kaya we agreed that if I can't come up with something we both like then we have to fix our own food together in the kitchen, para walang gulo ^_^ So that is what sometimes we do and I am okey with it.

CC: How do I annoy him?

Well I am the kind of wifey who love to annoy a husband lol!! The bad part is that my hubby is not easy to get annoyed. I have to do all my tactics and do some dramatic dialogue ala court drama pero parang deadma. Every time we go to a town where the church and my husbands kids live we passed his ex-wife house ^_^ I can only count in my fingers the time that I never annoyed him. So every time I start annoying him or bugging him asking him questions from about the past....like this...

Me...hon question!!
Hubby....(i think he knew what i am up to he don't answer he keeps quiet)
Me....(again) parang galit na (drama lang yan)....honnnn question!!
Hubby...(baka nga galit ako he says) okey go for it!
Me........okey here is my question!! Soooooo (pause pa yan sabay sulyap sa kanya) do you also go to church before?
Hubby...I can hardly remember.
Me......owssssssssss
Hubby...now I am telling you the truth and you don't believe me
Me........wellllll (taas nang kilay) I don't know if you will just keep it yah know??? (smile)
Hubby...have you ever had a toothache?
Me........(aba may figure speech pa, okey me I listen) YUP!! When I was a kid
Hubby...do you missed it?? do you want to remember it?
Me........nope, why?
Hubby...that's it!! I don't remember the past and that's the truth! I am so happy now!
Me.......(pumalakpak tainga ko) reallylllllllll (pa sweet ^_^)
Hubby... Yup!
Me....... So you don't go lovey dovey thing.
Hubby.. (eyes rolling) next time we are going to pass another road.
Then we both laugh!!

That's how I  annoy him specially, when I don't have nothing in mind hahahaha.

Couples Corner:Honey, are we lost?

Rodliz’s Nest

Do we all know that men don't stop and ask for direction? But why do we allow them to do the driving, lol!! Few years ago we went to Indiana to get the tractor that my hubby and his brother bought it online (ebay). So off we go to Indiana with just this map quest printed...this is before GPS has ever invented lol!!  Or maybe it's invented and it's already sold in Best Buy but we  don't have it yet at that time. When we were already in the place, hubby has this hard time following the mapquest, I am the navigator because I am the passenger so he has to follow me even if I am not the one behind the wheel. But he oftentimes don't like to follow me so we ended up going around and around and it gets creepy already. I feel that we've been drawn to the innermost part of this huge corn plantation and the road gets narrower and to think that I am a horror movie diva fanatic, my mind is already playing with me. What if the crows will come out and this boogey man is waiting for us somewhere, oh gush it makes me started to get spooky and panicky. I started to yell to my hubby to go back to where we came from, because I said it felt so creepy already. So we go back and we find this one lone gasoline station where people just stare at you, but I didn't hesitate to get out from the pick up truck and went inside the store asked where was the address lead to. Good thing is that their was this one cop, and he is off duty and he is the one who talked to me, I told him my hubby is in the pick up truck can he talked to him, geez he didn't get out, grrrr!! After that we drove and headed to the place that we are looking for and we found the house, took the tractor and drove home. Men are so bad in asking for direction they don't like to ask and even if we have tomtom/gps now he still sometimes don't want to follow our tomtom, gushness!!

CC:When we are getting ready

Oh my this is one of our issue before. He knew that it takes me time to prepare for myself. He knew that we Filipinas had to shower before dressing up. When I am doing all my rituals I keep on telling him to dress up now because I am almost done. When I am done...it's the time for him to fix himself...like shave...look for his pants and shirts. These makes me arrghhhhh!!! My voice totally over the roof!!! When he is ready to go I am sleeping and I don't want to go anymore. I did that one time and he did  change his style from that time on. Now when he knew that I am almost done he started to fix himself and so we are on the same phase. I am also the kind of person who planned what I am going to wear. So I don't have time wasted in front of the closet.  We did talked about this issue because before I ended up crying because I don't understand why he can't be in my phase. Again communication the secret of all.

CC:Do we celebrate being together

Rodliz’s Nest

Do we celebrate being together....yes we do. It's a blessing and a grace from God to  have a very wonderful husband and I am grateful of that. And because of that each time that we are together is a celebration. Life is short and why pass a day not to be nice or happy or being there for my husband in any way.  And to celebrate each other is not just by eating out, watching movie, have a good vacation, giving a nice gift and others but celebrating each other is also PRAISING each other. Yup, I see to it that I do appreciate and praises my husband doing today and vice versa. It does feel good no material things could equal it. And it straighten our relationship more to each other.
My command is this:
Love each other as I have love you.

Couples Corner:Together Again

Rodliz’s NestAfter I cried an ocean and stayed at the hotel for a night. The next day hubby brave himself to come over the hotel and  knocked at the door. I only had few hours of  sleep and every time I remember of what happened I cried again. I was a bit groggy because I remember I haven't eaten the whole day and so I feel weak.
Then I heard a knocked at the door I thought it's the house cleaner but when I opened the door it was my hubby!! My heart do the somersault, my ear do the clapping hehehehe. I was happy I saw my honey when I saw him I missed him terribly.  But I didn't let my emotion go against what I portrayed on my face. I was portraying a face that is mad and not unhappy. But when I saw my honeys face, I was surprised, he looked very haggard, his eyes is blood shot, I knew he is crying and he doesn't sleep. That changed my whole attitude. I told him to set down and he told me that I am going back home, and I said yes of course, I want to sleep on my bed hehehe. That lighten up his face and he knew right there that I was back to NORMAL! We embraced and kissed each other and we knew that we are okey. ^_^
Heading back home, I didn't talked about what happened. For me it was a waste of time I knew for sure he didn't mean to do it. It was the urge of this "male friend" of his that he chatted to his "male friend gf" and even if in their chat there is nothing that makes me feel insecure or jealous but my ego was pricked. And I lose my control it escalated to a riot hehehe.
What happened made me realized that in marriage life there will be some instances that our trust will be tested. And it takes a lot of communication to iron the things that are not clear. To open up our feeling to our spouse is very important so they knew what we are thinking and not that they will  let them guess. As hubby told me I can't read your mind so speak. ^_^  Now I over speak, akala ko meron pa akong audience lalo na kung inis ako dakdak ako nang dakdak, yun pala pag tingin ko sa likuran ko, disappear na si hubby hehe.

                                                        You can build
                         a relationship that will withstand
                                   the storms of life.

CC: I cried a river

Rodliz’s Nest
Oh my I was so late in my entry here I can't find Mommy Liz site in my bookmark menu. Good thing I went to Tejan blog and found an old Couple's Corner post, there I was able to come to the blog site.
Last week post " When I thought it's over" is for me I cried a river....ah no an ocean!! ^_^ With matching flying chair and broken  vases. I don't like that moment because it doesn't bring me good as well as my hubby. I am only very thankful that I come out in that incident not putting grudges to my hubby. In other words, I was healed and as hubby told me to look around feel it if he is doing something that is against our marriage vow. Which of course, I didn't  see any at all.

P.S. Mommy Liz you have to give me a reward this is the shortest entry ever! Hehehehe!

CC:When I thought it's over

Rodliz’s Nest

I am back!! I think I missed a lot of topic here but it's okey I am going to make the most of this topic and the next to come. The topic is really a nice one, I haven't totally thought that our relationship is over (speaking of married life) since we are only married seven years. But there is one event that happened few years back, I came back from the Philippines for a month vacation at that time. All my luggages where not even sorted out but since I had this bad jet lag I slept and slept all the time. After I think two days since I arrived here in MI, I   went to the computer and checked my emails and tinker my yahoo messenger, FB was not at it's peak at this time, yet. When I logged on the yahoo messenger it happened that my hubby's ym is on because when I was in the Philippines instead of him calling me I'll just checked him on my YM and leave messages, it goes pretty well. I was not snooping actually but it just so happened it was on, so I checked the archive and lo and behold, he is chatting to somebody else!!!!
Did my heart skip a bit?? Girls, it didn't skipped a bit it jump like a salamagan!! I felt my horn started to rise and curl and my tail started to come out, and what else started to come out? My pangs!! I don't know but I was just fuming MAD, ridiculously MAD!! I read the chat log, and told myself to think of the big box to be opened minded and  etc!! To heck with all those graciousness, I just exploded and everything was unleashed!!
I immediately asked him what's all this chatting all about? I did copied the chat logs, in front of my hubby's face I showed him the paper, and he kept on telling me that their is nothing going on. He has this American friend who is the bf of this (pinay) woman ( he is chatting), and it so happened that he was online and she is online so they chatted. But I don't like that, I told my hubby since you became my bf then a husband I have never chatted to anybody anymore!
I don't know it just escalate, my anger was to the brim that all the things inside the house that I passed was broken. I was mad, wild like 10 wild horse!! I was in the dining room, shouting and yelling and crying, that I picked up one chair and throw at him!! Still he keep on following me until he cried, but when you are mad you don't see it, you think that it's a crocodile tears!!
So I decided to left him, that time that moment. I saw my un-opened luggages I picked it up and told him to bring me to a hotel because I am going to leave him. He was so hesitant to do it but I told him if you are not going to do that something will happened here. So he got all my luggages and brought me to a hotel. I was inside the room still crying and crying, and when I looked out the window he was there at the parking lot. I told him to go home and leave me alone. I didn't know I doze off a little bit but the whole night I was crying until I decided to call my SIL and told her about what happened.
Of course, she was shocked and she asked me to pray with her and we did. The next day, I heard a knocked on the door and when I opened it, it was him!! Oh my gulay!! How I missed him so much, I didn't realized it until I saw him that morning. He asked me to come home and I did. Sometimes when I get moody or mad at him I reminded him of that time, which immediately I thought it's not a good idea, a past is the past,  so I just bit my lips and tame my tongue. We all love to have a good and smooth relationship so looking back and reminding of the bad things is not a good idea. I thought at that time it's over, thank God I listened to HIM.
