Today is the first day of Summer and here in Michigan it's everybody's wishes come true. Yes!! Our temperature hit up to the ceiling and it says 78F and living here in Michigan 78F is hot!!
Last Saturday, hubby and I went to two open houses and last Sunday after the mass we attended a garden wedding. The reception was at the garden too. It was fun because most of the people there are just relatives and friends. Not too many came I think because some had also other open houses and wedding and parties to attend to but the wedding party was fun.
When we get home everything was fine until it was at about 9:00pm. Hubby was complaining about tummy ache. I told him maybe it was some kind he ate that it upsets his stomach. I only told him to drink lots of fluid but after 30 minutes he did complained that it is aching and that he already went to the bathroom twice. I told him that is not a usual tummy ache but it might be something like a stomach flu or food poisoning. I immediately checked my first aid kit and to my dismay I don't have anything for diarrhea or tummy ache or any pain reliever and it's night time. That reality immediately made me felt nervous. It's night time and hubby is in pain and so I have to drive to go to the drug store and I am not confident to drive at night time. So but there is not other choice but to do it. Hubby still offered to drove me but I told him just stay on bed and I'll just get back as soon as possible. With both of us handing our cellphones for emergency purposes I arrived at Walgreens. I immediately look for their Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products which is the digestive relief products. I bought Anti-diarrheal, stole softener, and of course Walgreens extra strength head relief because I noticed before I left that he is hot but told me he doesn't have any headache. But don't want to be surprised in the middle of the midnight if in case he complains of a terrible headache so I bought one. Went home immediately and gave him the medicine. I am so thankful that after taking the medicine he was able to go to sleep.
The next day after no having a good sleep because I had to check my hubby from time to time and had to administer to him the medicine at the right time. It dawned on me that it's very important for each household to have a first aid kit. It should be a must. For what I have experienced that night it's a shocker to find that you don't have anything with you. Good thing that Walgreens is only 8 miles away from me but for the fact that it was night time and I don't want to drive at night it scares me!! But it's a matter what to choose of being scared or had to do it for my hubby who is in stomach pain. Gonna do what's the best thing to do, right?
Reviewing the receipt the next day I found out that Walgreens has the best price ever! I didn't noticed that I didn't spend more than $25 for the medicines that I bought that night. I shared it to my step-daughter and she told me that she does go to Walgreens all the time because of their price for the fact that Walgreens has Walgreens Way to Well Fund™ which when I look at it online I am so impressed that they give back to the community and that is the coolest thing ever happen to any drug store. And this is also what happened my step-daughter told me that their is a giveaways that is going on and that if you click the highlighted word it will take you down to a page and their you can enter the brand sweeps contest and it sounds fun so I did indeed join. Who knows I might win lol!!
For now hubby is doing fine. But looking back we are discussing about where and how come he had those stomach pain was he had a stomach flu or food poisoning. What ever it is since it's Summer we have to be cautious in handling our food. Because with proper handling it might cause a terrible nightmare which ruin our Summer vacation fun!! So be careful folks and have a good Summer everyone!

Hi, perhaps you can change the title to, " Be prepared-with a OTC household medicines kit" to catch the attention of your readers.
We all must be careful during the summer and hot weather of the foods we eat when outdoors.
Be Prepared is also the Girl Scouts motto that I learned while in that club many years ago.
