St. Blaise

Even if I slept at 5:00 am this morning (of course!) after a ladies night out, hubby and I went to church at 10:30 am. I was not sleepy though when I was inside the church but after lunch I can't hardly open my eyes lol!! But sitting inside the church I still do remember what the priest had said ^_^. He talked about St. Blaise and he prayed us over with two candles cross to our throat.

                             St Blaise
St. Blaise was the Bishop of Sebaste in Armenia. he once saved a boy from choking to death and for this reason invoked against diseases of the throat. He was arrested under Licinius for being the chief of the Christians. He was tortured and beheaded in Sebaste in 316. His feast became popular in Asia Manor and was brought to Europe by the Crusaders. On his feast day throats are blessed, seeking the intercession of St. Blaise.
